Customer Questions & Answers
-
Question:
Is this actually a 55 mm stem or a 50mm stem?
Answer: 35 mm fatness. 50 mm 'rise' or whichever one you selected as I believe it comes in different lengths. -
Question:
Can someone do jumps with this stem? How about downhill? No mention about its intended use.
Answer: It's a pretty beefy stem, so I might be more worried about the strength of the handlebars before the strength of the stem. I use it on my Surly Pugsley do everything bike, and it's all good!
Origin8 Stems Editorial Review
The Origin 8 stem is a well-made product that looks more expensive than it is. It is designed for use with bars with more back sweep and requires a 31.8mm stem. The stem has been tested on a 1500 watt ebike carrying a 220 lb rider at 45 mph and performed flawlessly. The weight is only 115 grams, which some users find concerning, but it has held up well during use. Overall, the Origin 8 stem is a great product at a reasonable price point.
