The medal is coated with clear enamel and is quite stunning in color and detail. The medal has several color schemes including a lighter blue and a darker blue with red and gold coloring. While reactions on the physical makeup of a given individual are hard to predict, the personal reviewer has not had any skin problems with the medal so far. Customers have expressed delight in the fine workmanship and how it exceeded their expectations. There is a special blessing for this medal, which probably would best be done by a Benedictine priest or deacon. The medal is said to have a solid thickness and good weight to it, yet not overly heavy. It is encased in plastic to keep it from tarnishing or fading and the plastic is not a cheap feeling plastic that will scratch or yellow with age.
