Spyder Hole Saws Editorial Review
The Spyder 600111 Rapid Core Eject Hole Saw is a reliable tool, but it requires an arbor to function, which is sold separately. The arbor should fit the hole saw collar, and a drill alternatively attaches to the arbor. A 6-inch hole saw will need a half-inch arbor. While it is not suitable for cutting through stucco, it can cut through plastics such as the Igloo cooler material, or for drilling holes in hardwoods and plywood. However, the hole size may not be precise. It cuts a hole slightly smaller than the intended 6-inch diameter. Some customers noted that the holes were smaller (5 ⅞") than advertised, causing inconvenience in getting a 6" pipe through the hole. The Spyder hole saw comes with a quick-release feature, but the quality of the blade teeth may not match customer expectations. Some customers noted that the blade was dull after less than a dozen uses, with teeth wearing out too soon. The Spyder hole saw blade also wears out fast while cutting metal, where it is not recommended. Conversely, on cast aluminium, it performed well. In summary, Spyder 600111 Rapid Core Eject Hole Saw is reliable and easy to use for specific purposes, but when purchasing, keep in mind that the arbor is not included and the hole size may be smaller than what you expect.
