The post has a 5/8" diameter and the length is 2 3/4". It should fit Excelsior Lathe and Rikon Lathe. However, it will not fit the shop smith. Some customers found that the post is too smooth, and the locking screw on the lathe cannot obtain a secure bite, which allows the rest to move out of position while turning. Overall, Robust Tool Rest is a great addition for any small wood lathe as it has great surface, build, and finish quality.
