The previous energy rating scheme was showing it's age to the point where most products produced would qualify for A or higher, even though much more efficient products existed - they'd be sitting with much less efficient products. The new rating doesn't mean it's a less efficient bulb - the newer scheme just requires higher lumens produced per watt. This bulb in the older energy rating scheme would be around A to A+.
